Rebeka Kunej, PhD, is a Research Fellow at Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts, an Assistant Professor of Folklore Studies and Comparative Mythology at University of Ljubljana. She is lecturer of the course Instrumental Folk Music and Folk Dance, module Slovenian Folk Music Heritage at the Academy of Music. Through studies of folk dance/ dancing, she examines history of folk dance ensembles and folklore festivals in Slovenia, dance music on 78rpm records as a source of ethnochoreological research, ethno-identity dance practices in post-1991 Slovenia, and dance as identity symbol of emigrants/immigrants.
