Katarina Šrimpf, phD, was born in 1985 in Celje. In 2010 she graduated from the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology at Ljubljana's Faculty of Arts, since then she has been working as a research assistant at the SRC SASA Institute of Slovenian Ethnology. She studied as a DAAD scholarship holder in Germany (Göttingen) in the academic year 2012/13. In 2015, she defended her PhD dissertation titled »Oral traditions and collective memory in Slovenian area of upper Obsotelje« under the supervision of dr. Monika Kropej Telban. Her research interests include folklore, especially humorous stories and jokes, urban legends, the construction of identity and belonging, as seen through the narrative tradition and research of clothing culture and history.
