For Mohamed Yusuf Boss and his work, the starting point is that history is not in the past but stored in us. From that point of view Mohamed is reflecting on cowboys and natives in Western movies. What is their history and what of that history is stored in us or is hidden? Which history takes more space in time than other histories? Who is the hero? Who is the villain? Who are you?
Time is fragmented rather than linear. Memories/history are put in a physical space in 10 different video projections.
Mohamed Yusuf Boss is a dancer, choreographer and theater-maker based in Groningen, the Netherlands. He is a co-founder of X_YUSUF_BOSS, a place that provides space for stories that are normally untold or hidden.
