MACAO: THE FLOATERS

Supercinema, Santarcangelo Festival, Santarcangelo, Italy
July 5-14, 2019

Training to do nothing, training to do nothing, training to do nothing, training to do nothing, training to do nothing, training to do nothing, training to do nothing, training to do nothing, training to do nothing, training to do nothing, training to do nothing, training to do nothing, unproductive resistance, training to do nothing, training to do nothing, training to do nothing, training to do nothing, training to do nothing, training to do nothing, training to do nothing, training to do nothing, training to do nothing.

Macao is a self-organised art centre and collective based in Milano, with an emphasis on new models for art production. Their project in Santarcangelo proposes to widen access to forms of resistance and self-care practices by offering a moment of respite and collective decompressing within the intensity of the festival environment.
For this purpose, Macao has designed an exquisite floatation tank for sensory deprivation. The audience is invited to spend an hour floating in the buoyant body-temperature water, in darkness and silence, just doing nothing – a potentially life changing experience.
