GOD’S ENTERTAINMENT: UNDER THE CARPET

August 22 – 27, 2020
Športno društvo Tabor, Ljubljana, Slovenia

In the frame of Mladi levi festival.

Art installation Under the Carpet offers images of a nation relating to the political, cultural, social and media landscape within or outside any European country – in the Mladi Levi edition, the Vienna collective God’s Entertainment elevates the “Slovenian national Weaving”, exhibiting what is swept under the Slovenian carpet. Everything under the carpet bears witness to change and corruption that works in favor of the powerful, discriminates against minorities, and harbors hatred towards the others and the different. Suppressing, sweeping, hiding the difficulties and problems we don’t want to face is an individual psychological mechanism that we all know, but it is also a social mechanism that reveals the required systemic change. The collective whose interdisciplinary works are explorations of political and social topics invites the visitor on a journey to the place that gathers all forgotten and suppressed things: under the carpet.
