Carte Blanche: While they are floating

We can no longer look the other way

Refugees are often presented as an anonymous threat of people flocking to us in large numbers. Norwegian dance company Carte Blanche zooms in on the personal stories of individual refugees. They all make their own choices, have their own experiences, memories and dealings with loss. And despite the groups that seem to absorb them, they all have their own loneliness to bear.

What do you take with you when you have to leave everything behind? The dancers cast these stories into physical form. With music by Helge Steen (a.k.a. Deathprod). Carte Blanche is the most influential contemporary Norwegian dance company. It previously performed in Bouchra Ouizguen’s production Jerada.
