Beton Ltd.: German Cycle

Beton Ltd. are one of the most renowned theatre collectives in Slovenia. Their last artistic period was marked by desire to deviate from literary sources that thus led them to performances or works in which members of the collective think and reflect on themselves and the circumstances that surround them. Another thing that marks their last period is titles of their works in German – thus naming the creative period German Cycle.
German Cycle in May was a retrospective of Beton Ltd.’s work but also a reflection of society, art, production and Beton Ltd.’s history by various professionals that have come in contact with Beton Ltd.’s work. Various “guided tours” that often time took a performative turn were led by professionals from various fields (visual arts, theatre, activistic) and various generations (from established artists to emerging theatre collective).
At the same time, a format of cultural education that Bunker is developing – school in culture, invited youngsters to see performances and engage in various workshops focusing on contemporary art.
