Dear zoom.us,
I am investigating you. Don’t worry though, this investigation is neither political nor organizational. Oddly enough, I am researching you on an aesthetic level. A year ago I made this performance called ‘Pocahontas’ in which I treat my confused identity with a western sense of guilt and arrogance. All my shows got cancelled and the only platform that allows me to show something right now is you. So, here we go then, making myself 2D and more tangible than ever.
Hope to see you on the line,
Ariadna
In “Here I come to save my day” mime-performance-maker Ariadna Rubio Lleó attempts to restage elements of the ‘Pocahontas’ story online.
Ariadna Rubio Lleó studied Mime in Amsterdam and graduated in 2008. With her graduation class she co-founded the theater collective Schwalbe. Schwalbe has created different shows that have played in the Netherlands and abroad. ‘Pocahontas’ is Ariadna’s first solo made with ‘a company’ and premièred in 2019. In ‘Here I come to save my day’ Ariadna adapts elements of that show for an online viewer.
