Public Art Platform – Tbilisi, Tbilisi, Georgia
Public art Platform is a place for artists, researchers, students, professionals or amateurs and citizens, who like to share, respond and participate; who know the value of public space, cultural and natural heritage; who praise art, social and human rights and who find culture for nature not culture versus nature.
Public art Platform was founded by women artists and researchers in 2011. Cultural local NGO supports artists and art activities related to participatory, socially engaged and community based art. The organization aims at filling the gap in contemporary art processes in Georgia: lack of platform for networking of local and international artists, connecting art and social development. The first initiative by PAP was short video coverage of contemporary art festivals in Tbilisi. PAP organized international artist network Caravan Express meetings in Tbilisi as well as Creative Peacebuliding seminar. Members of PaP an art historian and critic Ani Chorgolashvili, a photographer Keti Siamashvili, an art researcher and a curator Lali Pertenava, an artist and a curator Natalia Vatsadze and are actively engaged in art and social projects in and outside Georgia.
