BIT Teatergarasjen, Bergen, Norway
BIT Teatergarasjen co-produces and presents Norwegian and international performing arts and gives particular emphasis to projects that encourage international cooperation and work across artistic genres. In addition to a season program, BIT Teatergarasjen curates and produces two festivals with a focus on international impulses and tendencies within dance and theatre, Oktoberdans and Meteor. These festivals have a solid international recognition and are unique in their genre in Norway. BIT Teatergarasjen was established in Bergen in 1983/84 and are Norways oldest institution on this level. BIT Teatergarasjen aims to co-produce and present artistic work, but also to initiate, take part in and produce academic programs, seminars and workshops as well as publications in partnership with local, national and international partners.
